Crossing the line AKA Shakes the Fuckwad Clown
Normally, Shakes the fuckwad Clown doesn't bother me. Like I said in a thread on OT, he is just desparate because he is a washed up second rate ex-reality show contestant whose 15 minutes ran out long ago. And though he used to be feared, he is now just a joke. Newbies try to get flamed by him, oldies are bored by him. He really is a joke and I almost feel sorry for how pathetic he is.
But this time he crossed the line. In the sports forum, he called Tim a CUNT and he called Pene and Pepe DEAF AND DUMB. It's one thing to flame but this just goes so far over the line for me and for a few others who I have discussed it with.
After talking with Monsty, we are hoping that as old time posters, we can pull together and create our own ban on Shakes the fuckwad Clown. It is our hope that EVERYBODY will just ignore the fuckwad clown. Don't post to any of his threads. Don't respond to any of his posts.

I used to find him funny when he'd still contribute something other than asshole comments to the boards with carefully inserted newbie flames. I even exchanged some nice emails with him in the past & thought he was a really good person underneath some of those flames. Now he just comes off as a pathetic ass and displays very offensive, poor behavior to people that don't deserve it.
I used to feel the same way, Kim. I found him amusing. But his one trick pony has grown old and unfunny. I guess when a B-rate reality contestant can't get the same reaction that he once did, that he has to resort to playground tactics of calling people highly offensive names.
I too have heard some good things about him from behind the scene. But a truly good person does not call a woman a cunt for no reason and does not tell a deaf man that he is deaf and dumb.

I am right with you. I have been around since the "good ol' days" and have seen Shakes at his best and at his worst. But reading that thread today made every previous notion that I had about him get tossed out the window.
I was wondering what I could do, and now that I have your suggestion, I'll be joining in.
Simply put, I was disgusted and appalled by what I read. Your humble opinion mirrors mine.
Thank you, Meemo. There were a few of us who were appalled. This just goes so far past flame wars that I can't see how anyone would find humor in it.

Like Meemo says, he used to just flame newbies, and mostly quite deservedly. But after he got his official Webby-approved dispensation from the normal rules of conduct he became a complete fuckwad. Too bad, because he really does have some good insights into the dynamics of reality shows.

Ditto Jen and Nookie. Plus, I've always thought that the reasons given for his exception were some of the most lame-ass things I've ever heard. I'm sorry, but doing something once does not make you an expert on that. It makes you more experienced than me, but you're still not an expert.
And it wasn't even one of the big reality shows. It aired for once season, like 20 years ago or something. *snort*

Firsly, the c-word is extremely vile and anyone who resorts to using it is an ill-mannered, foul mouthed, depraved idiot. Secondly, his direct attack of Pene (and Pepe for that matter) went way, WAY beyond playful bashing; it was hurtful, mean spirited and ignorant.
AS I told Carey this morning, my plan is as follows: 1. blog about a boyctott- which Carey did so I am not going to bother unless it starts bothering me again- 2. PM people who never click over to blogland and mention to them about our plan of ignorning him until he goes away. 3. PM Pepe and offended parties. 4. PM Ayak expressing my disdain.
And 5. If my pregnancy hormones go out of whack again in the next 24 hours, I might start a thread...a sly one but one that makes a point through impilcation.

That delete was me. I was voicing some displeasure about another posters behavior in that thread & I decided it best to not post about it on here. It was MUCH less bothersome to me than shakes' comments.
I will agree that Tim's initial reply was not the greatest. But I don't believe it deserved being called a cunt. And Pepe didn't deserve the "deaf and dumb" comment either.

He's a claim to fame for the website. An actual, bonafide reality TV 'star' who is a regular poster. That would be hard to replace; regular posters are a dime a dozen.
Your definition of 'star' may vary, and it may have been a second or third tier show, but a site built around reality TV is not going to ban a reality TV player unless he does something so real-world reprehensible that he becomes a total pariah. Unlikely.
