Question of the week

Okay, I wanted to see a new title because the old one reminded me of what a stressful week I had leaving me with nothing to say for the week.
Even though there won't be much traffic here on the weekend, I didn't really want to see the old post. I still don't have a lot to say so I came up with a question.

What made you originally start your blog?

For me, I had some issues that I was working out and was feeling bad about always emailing Glow about it. I think she started one first and I liked the idea so I was a copycat and started one too. I put all of my anger and sorrow and bitter feelings there. A couple of times I even deleted the entire thing out of anger. Then I got sick of it being full of all of my downer shit that needed to be worked out but I didn't want to put anything fun there because it was where I went to get things off my chest. Well then I noticed that all kinds of people were popping up with blogs and I wanted to be a part of that too but didn't want to publish my blog because it was full of many of my personal, deep, dark thoughts that I wasn't comfortable sharing with the world.
So I started this blog. My other blog won't be shared or published. I like having that place to go to really dump out my "trainwrecks". I like having this place in order to keep in touch with people, play with others, have a place to connect with others and a place where I can come and throw out some thoughts without it feeling like intense psycho therapy.
I like these bloggy things. I like my daily routine of checking blogs. I like reading about you people and I like how we share stuff with each other through each other's blogs. It's fun. It's nice.

Italian spam, now. Very uptown.

Anyway, Monsty started mine and I took it over in self-defense.

Another joke, suite to the one for the previous entry.

What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants coming over the hill wearing dark glasses?

Nothing. He didn't recognize them.

I started mine because of you. But seriously, I had only registered so I could comment on a blog. Then I started actually posting on my first blog as a way to express certain emotions and work through things. I started the public blog because I was asked a few times by a few people when I was going to let them read my blog. So, I copied some not as personal posts from the private blog, and put it out there for anyone who was interested to read. I still have the private blog, but I don't post in it as often, because I'm not having the emotional crap that I was.

I really like the blogs, too. It's really cool getting to see into everyone's world, a bit more intimate sometimes, than what we post on OT. And sometimes it's just how someone's day went. I love it.

I started mine because...well...in all honesty, you guys made me. Sort of. And I had to register to post on Glowbug's blog (I think). And while I was registering, I figured what the hell. It's been a few years since I've had a journal and while I don't have the intense crap going on that I used to...sometimes it's nice to have a place to go to sort through things. I try not to get too intense on you guys and skim the surface of things, but I know if I really needed to, it probably would be okay.

And, the more time I spend jumping through the links on my blog, the more I get to know peeps I probably would not have tried to get to know thru that other place. Never would have known what (and who) I would be missing.

*smooch* to Glowbug and Carey

It was because of you Carey! You told me about your blog and I checked it out. I think I was fed up with that poster with poodles and her racist remarks that got to me.

I love it. I feel like we have our own little world. I am slow to link people though and I use Carey's page as my home page to find everyone. (See I bet you did not know that!)

I am going to have to e-mail some of you my other e-mail address cause the other site has been very slow for me lately and I sometimes have trouble getting it on.

BTW, love your Italian spammer.

I started mine because Akim made me feel inadequate and out of the loop.

Then I get mine started, and I find out that woman never updates hers!!!

*grin* But, as I pointed out in that scary place (my blog)- I love blogging, and it has given me more pleasure than that boring place. (as of late anyway..)

I started my first blog because I had issues going on with Syrenboy in school. I wanted somewhere to put everything that was going on, that could time stamp it and allow me to go back to it if I needed to. From there it involved into a place where I ranted, played, from serious posts to not so serious ones. It gave me an outlet to discuss issues that I think are important, but also a place where I did not have to be so stuffy all the time.
I also had two others, both private that were/are stories, real and fiction.
I have no idea if I will continue with my blog in it's current state, but I will miss it. However I am not deleting it, because I want it there to fall back on.
I use HD's blog to go see everyone. He links to everyone...

Started mine to get crap out too.

Maybe some day I'll start a public one. *shrug* We'll see.

Heh, Zombs I also use this blog as my home and jump to all the other blogs from it.

Monsty made me start mine. And, I still enter blogland through her pm on OT, so that's why I always respond in her's first. It's like a little secret passage way into blog land, and no one can see it in my drop down menu.

LOL at the spam. I'm so sorry Monsty. I could send him your blog address.
Very cool hearing about all of your blogs. No Zombs and Breezy, I did not know that you used my blog as your home for other blogs and i didn't know you started yours because of me Zombie. I think that's awesome. :)
And I don't think I knew that I was the reason for yours, Arkie. I think that's awesome.
I do remember when Glow and I were pushing Momma into getting one.
Rose, not only is Kimmah's not updated, it now shows no posts.
I remember when Syren was having Syrenboy problems. I'm glad you started yours and hope you get back to it.
Be careful Coco. Monsty gave a bunch of us the username and password and she told each of us to take a day when you were out on maternity leave. *evil grin*

For the most part I click from my bookmarks in alphabetical order by the name of the blog, not the poster. I do it like that unless I am expecting banter in a certain blog at that time.
I also, for the most part check mine last.
Some days I click on the notify by email when something new is posted and some days I don't.
Once I go through MY list. I will go back to other blogs that have links to other blogs that I like to read but don't link here.

Well, I use your blog as a jumping off page to the other blogs, too. I only linked people who gave me permission to link them, and *sigh* not that many peeps said I could link them.

You can link me arkie! Can I link you?

I think I understand the Italian spam! Those 3 years of Spanish weren't completely wasted after all.

What an interesting blog! I'm going to bookmark it! There is a site of scummy dumplings. This includes a lot of really good spaghetti and scummy dumplings.

Hope you visit when you have the time!
Wait...that's not gnocchi...

I got my Blogger account because HD goaded me in a PM about posting sheep on his blog and I couldn't let that pass.

In the beginning, I just made up a profile and de-lurked on the blogs I had been navigating to from HD's. (I have bookmarks now.)

Carey and Momma both made mention of the fact that I didn't have one.

So I figured I had the account, why not give it a try. I had done 3 days worth when Carey found me and asked if she could link me. Since I wasn't sure if anyone would care, that made me feel all special and stuff. *smooch* to Carey.

I like to talk. For some reason I feel self-conscious at the other place. I don't seem to have this problem IRL. This blogging thing is fun and I like getting to know everyone. Thanks for letting me play.

Coco: did you have the same book of elephant jokes that I had as a kid?

Much like others here, I kinda jumped on so I could post comments. Once it was all set up, I figured, what the heck? I've enjoyed so much getting to know you all better. And, anyone can link me, I'd love it.

I enjoyed hearing all of your "getting started" stories and remarks. This got more responses than I thought it would considering it was the weekend.

I'm thinking of copying this spam and making it my new profile.

I had a LiveJournal first, started that back in December 2004. I am a bit of a Harry Potter geek and that feeds my addiction to that.

I had read different peeps blogs and decided that I wanted more of a journal. Blogger seemed like a good place for me to get out some of my feelings. I really do feel ignored a lot of the time and wanted a place to work out feelings.

It has grown into so much more for me. I am able to keep in touch with OT peeps and have made other friends out there in cyberland.

It is amazing how much I really feel for my online friends. And if I don't say it enough, I really enjoy your comments and the fact that you all take the time to comment.

I started my blog only to be able to add comments to other blogs. I didn't like being "anonymous" all the time and it was too much work to start clicking "other" blah blah blah. I started posting in my blog so that I could update peeps on my HS reunion preparations. I definitely don't update my blog often but I do try. I wish I had more time. It would be great to be able to write down any thoughts or occurances on a daily basis.

I too use Carey's blog as my link to everyone else. Once I get to HD's blog, I then check out more peep's blogs.

I love blogs. It's a great way to keep up to date with everyone. I also love getting to know everyone. It's fascinating to see how some people's minds work. I do try to comment but there isn't always the time. Be assured though I am lurking about and catching up on everyone :-)

Arkie, you can link me if you want, if you haven't already.

Ahhhhhhhh, Italian spam ... That's amore *grin*

I'm really behind in my blog reading and blog anything. CQ was the inspiration for me starting my first blog back in January and originally it was like you said. I was going to put all of the things I never wanted anyone to know about but had to get out there. Then I got discovered and slowly more and more people found me and I worried about some of the things I'd published and how people would view me and all that jazz. Then I said fuck it and I'll post whatever I want anyway. I moved my original blog once and deleted my second blog and now I have an anonymous blog where I pretty much just spew to myself and my journal is still around but defunct for the time being. I do enjoy reading the blogs though and will probably restart a public one later in the year.
