Don't pee yourself
Over the excitement of this news. Our fucking floors are finally going to be put in. We have had the tile in our garage for many many months. Michelle is getting a tile guy through her work to do this on the side so we are getting it at half price. Still not cheap. *gasp* $5.00 a square foot to install, not including the cost of the tile. Yikes. We got about 350 square feet to put in. Once the tile is down then we are going to recarpet the rest of the house. The carpet is free since Michelle owns a carpet store but we will probably have to pay someone to install it. But we are finally getting the tile done. I am so glad about this. After the floors, the kitchen cabinets get done. We decided to buy new cabinet doors instead of having the old ones redone. We found some really cool doors at an artshow last weekend. A real light wood frame with frosted glass in the middle. Very cool.
We found out that we can't sell the house though for another year+. We got what is called an MCC certificate when we bought the house. Because we were first time home buyers. This MCC thingy gives us a 15% rebate on our taxes every year. BUT, we have to keep the house for 9 years or else we have to repay some of that money. It's not worth the penalty so we are stuck here until at least November of 2006. Then we are out of here. I hope.
Just got the high and low fair market value of our house. Now understand, this is not about bragging, this is about educating you all on the ridiculous prices of homes in the bay area.
Low market $610,000 and high market $627,000. We live in a Townhouse. Not a house with a yard and shit. A Townhouse. 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 1 car garage plus a one car attached carport. 1550 square feet. This is no mansion. We don't even live in what I would call a desirable city. My house is in no way NO WAY worth what the FMV says it is.
I had coffee, I rambled a little more than I had planned.
Again, don't pee yourself over the excitement of this post. Carry on.

*looks down at puddle on the floor*
Sorry, but this *is* really exciting news! (At least I didn't pee on the new floors)
Thanks to the housing prices in the Bay area, the Sacramento area is growing by the second. People would rather commute than pay for real estate there.
psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I work with a guy who commutes from Fresno. From what I hear though, prices are coming down.
I can't believe how much the Sacto area has grown.
Breezy? *evil eye*
YAY on the new tile floor!
ACK on the house price. WOW! I knew housing prices were outrageous there. Cool. I have a rich friend *grin*
"Fucking" floors? Do these type of floors increase or decrease the value of the home? We're about to pick out new kitchen flooring ourselves, and I know dh would be interested in this type of flooring. *grins*
Rich? HAH!!!!!
Fucking floors are a specialty. You can only get them if your SO owns a flooring store. *grin*
It's.not.pee!
For over a year now I have been begging hubby to re-do our kitchen floors. We also need new carpeting.
So, yes, this is exciting enough for me to pee myself Carey!
Man cost of living there must suck. That is why I love Ohio, even though many peeps were raging on OH yesterday...*pouts*
The cost of living in Pennsylvania is much lower. Plus it's really pretty here.
Light wood with frosted glass in the middle? is exactly my decorating taste. That's what my tv stand thingy looks like. Of course the doors are framed with silver. :)
What does the tile look like? We will of course need pics when it's done.
*giggle* at Arkie. *giggle*
I will post pics after it is done. We have to pack up the bar and the china cabinet by Saturday. We are tearing out the old flooring this weekend and the tild dude starts on Monday.
The tile is a little darker than we hoped for but the tile in our color didn't come in the tile type that we wanted. I don't remember if we got the ceramic or the porcelain. One holds heat more, that's what we got.
I'm glad that others have peed with me. I felt silly standing here in a puddle all by myself.
Damn. Boo beat me here AND stole my line.
Sometimes I'm fast like that.
I like Knockers' blog. You can say funny words like that here.
Everything and anything can be said in Knockers' blog. I'm nice like that. *grin*
Thank goodness there is all of this action here. I needed someone to amuse me, and I heard this was the place. Any more stories?
