Whew

I can breath a little easier now that Christmas is over. Tomorrow at work, I can get back to browsing the blog world, althoughI did notice a new addition or two to our little circle so I had to go check those out. And I popped over to OT a couple of times this weekend. So I'm getting back into the real world.

Dad came home from the hospital on Friday. It was touch and go as to whether I would be able to go to their house on Christmas though. I came down with a nasty flu/cold and I didn't want to get him sick. Luckily I was vigilant in taking my Airborne/vitamin C/Orange Juice/Nyquil/Aleve cold&sinus/Afrin/Christmas cookies/Fudge/other cookies/candy, that I don't think I'm contagious any longer *achooo* exsqueeze me. I am still sick but at least the body aches are gone.
So Christmas with the family very nice. I went over at breakfast and then we opened presents and then we just hung out. Michelle showed up after being at her parent's house and my Mom's best friend came over because she does every year. Then around 2pm people started to bring us food. My Dad's best friends all pitched in and made us a complete dinner. Deep fried turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, candied yams, mashed potatoes, pies with real whipped cream (I thought of Coco when no Cool Whip showed up)
I couldn't believe that these people took the time out of their own Christmas Day to do this for us. My Dad has some wonderful friends. I just can't believe that they would do this for my Dad and our family. It was the best Christmas meal we have ever had. Despite the fact that I couldn't taste a thing because of my cold, I ate every single thing and enjoyed it more than any other year. Now I know what love tastes like.

Awwww, that really is sweet. I think I mentioned in OT how you really know that people care about you at this time of year. I am so glad you were able to spend it with your dad at home.

And speaking of germ fighters. Have you tried Zicam? I'm telling you, it works. And I think they have a "flu" version too. It's probably too late this time, but just keep it on the shelf with your Airborne. I used both last week.

I've only had the Zicam swabs and I did not like those at all. I wouldn't mind trying the spray though. But not if it's goopy like the swabs. Ick.

That's so wonderful, Carey (not least because of non-Cool Whip.. those people must really love you).

I'm glad you're feeling better, though diseased, and that you're back. Blogworld is just not the same without you.

Now my nose has goopy goo in it from those terrible swabs. Acks.

Thank You, Coco. I knew you would be impressed with the non Cool Whip.

Tell her that we couldn't in Quebec. Maybe it was a prevailing winds issue.

YAY! Guess what just came in the afternoon mail? COOKIES FROM CAREY!! They are wonderful. Perfect timing. DH made me leave all the cookies up at my parent's house and then as soon as we got home, had the nerve to ask me if we had any cookies in the house. Grrrr. I am tempted NOT to share.

Thank you Carey and *smooches* to you too!
