Countdown begins

In two weeks I will no longer be employed here after 13 years.
The next day I leave for my mini vacation.
The following Monday is my birthday and I start my new job.
Whew, what a month. :)

What are you going to do on your mini-vacation?

I will be pretty busy. I leave on the 17th to go on a mini trip with 3 wonderful friends. Then the week of the 20th I have a doctor's appointment, a dentis appointment (get these done while I still have insurance since I will have a 3 month probation period at the new job). then my Mom is taking me shopping one day. Then the weekend and then I start the new job.

Boo, I have written a list with the dates and I cross them off as they pass.

I'm counting down to a vacation also. Ft. Lauderdale, here I come. Again! Woo!

About that probation period...will you be without any health insurance during that time? If so, I strongly suggest looking into extending your current coverage through COBRA, or however you can do it. Please do not tempt fate by going without, even for a little while.

Congrats on your new journey!

COBRA is going to cost me a pretty penny. $318 per month. So I am definitely going to go through COBRA and only keep my medical. I am getting my 6 month cleaning at the dentist this month so I am going to drop the dental and the vision. If something horrible happens with my teeth in that time I can always get on Michelle's dental insurance (thank you domestic partnership). But until then I am definitely doing the COBRA route.

I was going to ask about the COBRA as well. Good for you.

You might want to ask about just Catastrophic coverage. It may be cheaper, but it will only cover hospital etc.

I'm glad you're not letting your medical lapse. I know it's outrageous, but the risk is even higher. I have my dental cleaning coming up next month. I loooove getting my teeth cleaned!
