This is it

Tomorrow (Monday) I start my new adventure. There are so many good and bad that go with it and I am looking forward to getting it out of the way.
The bad: New place with new people. I will be the newbie. No Internet access so I will be cut off from the world that I have grown used to. Which means I won't be around here as much as I used to. *pout*. New hours. It's been years since I have worked an 8-5 day. That is going to be a huge adjustment. I am sure that around 2pm tomorrow I am going to hit a wall of depression because I would normally be going home then. I won't feel at home for a bit. I really do like comfortable so this is just waaaaay out of my comfort zone.
The positives: A decent paycheck for a change. That is going to be a huge welcome. It is also going to be nice going into to work everyday and not feeling as if I just dread getting out of bed everyday. Although I was comfortably numb at the last job it was really hindering me in my quest to build a healthier and happier life for myself and Michelle. This should be a huge boost. I really am looking forward to seeing how other printing companies operate. I can't for a minute believe that my last place is standard operating procedure. Based on speaking with other people in the industry, I am correct in this assumption and I am going to be thrilled about working for an organized company. Of course there are always office politics and good and bad everywhere you go but from what I understand I have really been held back by staying where I did. So I look forward to learning about how a company should really run.
*Deep breath* I get more and more nervous as the hours go by. I am sure I will be up way too early tomorrow because of my nerves. If so I will probably do a quick round on the computer, one last time until my new adventure starts and my new routines are established.
*sniff* I'm really going to miss seeing all of you during the day.

Hmm, for some reason I was thinking you had another few days or even a week. But then again, after thinking about it, you are correct. You do start a new life tomorrow.

I remember well going from unhealthy situations (Mickey's, the law firm) into healhy ones, which the law firm was at the beginning. It's just the best feeling, and it's one that you have needed for a long time.

Breezy is right, you're going to do great. We will absolutely miss you, but no one would rather have you here than there at the new place.

Have a great day. I love you and am so happy and so proud of you.

And don't worry about Breezy, we'll take care of her.

It's been 2 1/2 years since I was in your shoes. The first week was a whirlwind and my head felt like it was going to explode. But then it started getting easier and within 6 months I felt like I actually knew what I was doing and that I belonged.

Not being able to play on OT all day was a huge thing for me too. The hours and lack of vacation was another. I went from 6 weeks to 1 that first year. Next year I finally get 3 weeks.

My positives were the same as yours. The extra money was great but getting away from Mean Jean was by far the best part. I'm a different person now. No stress, happier, healthier. You will be too.

Don't look back Carey! You're going to be fine! *hugs*

Good luck! Bring a snack to pep you up in the afternoon. The first few days won't be indicitive of the job. You might feel overwhelmed, but it'll get easier every day as you get into the new routine.

Happy Birfday!!!

You are going to post a pic of you in grownup clothes aren't you? *giggle*

Love you! You're going to do great. Like everyone said the first week will be a whirlwind of learning the ropes. Ooooh good idea about the snack! Bring a snach for that 2 o'clock let down you "think" you're going to have. How many here think she won't even realize it's past 2 when 2 o'clock gets there? *raises hand*

*smooch*

Maybe you're awake as I write this and will read it Before you leave ---Good Luck!---if not it'll be here when you get home :)

I hate the first 3 weeks at a new place. I want to learn everything by osmosis.

You're going to be great.

Thank you everybody. I snuck out for a few and am able to check my email and blog right now but then back to work. It looks like I won't be able to do ANY surfing from work anymore. I will have email set up in about a week so I am completely cut off from the outside world until then. I'm on my laptop at lunch right now but it isn't very convenient considering very little hotspots. But I wanted to be able to check in on my first day.
So back to work I go. So far I haven't passed out or passed anything else. I do miss having access to the world though. *sigh*
Thank you again and I am hoping to check in with the world tonight after work and dinner. *sniff*
I do feel a bit lonely at the new job. *sigh* I know that feeling will soon go away. *smooch*
