Pre weekend randoms

I came into work yesterday to an email from EB (evil boss). "Carey, I will be out of the office until April 9th. We will need to talk when I get back"
WTF is that? What kind of boss leaves a note like that to their employee? Is she trying to intimidate me? If so, it didn't work. If she was just trying to piss me off, well then it worked. I pretty much expect to be fired when she returns. Now the joke in the office is, everytime I walk by someone they say "dead man walking". *snort* I need to decide whether or not to confront her on the phone if she asks to speak to me over the next 10 days. We'll see. Mood will dictate that answer. I'm actually not freaked out about being fired. In a small way, I believe in Karma. She's going to be an old and lonely and bitter woman. I can live with that.

I'm going on a road trip in Septemeber. I'm flying to Michigan and meeting Breezy. From there we will be driving up into Canada to stay with Lightsy. Imagine the fun. I try and can't possibly imagine how much fun we're going to have. Have Southern Comfort, will travel.

Michelle hasn't decided whether she wants to do Las Vegas or New York for her 40th birthday. Each trip has it's pros and cons. I asked her to make a decision by the end of this week so that I could get to planning. I'm happy with either option. She keeps asking me which I would rather do. I told her that it really makes no difference to me and that it is up to her. I just want an answer so I can get things booked and paid for before I get fired on the 9th. *grin*

I'm going to the Tattoo Expo on Saturday at the Cow Palace. We're going with a couple of friends. We'll see if I come home with new ink. I already know what I want, it's just a matter of getting it done.

I'm taking my Mom to the Giants/Dodgers game on Easter. *hop* She was soooo soooo excited. I haven't heard my Mom get that happy about something in a long time. So I'm looking forward to it.
That's all I got. Have a good weekend.

I have a big head, and little arms

That commercial for Meet The Robinsons, or whatever the title of that animated movie is, cracks me up. That dinosaur who says he has a big head and little arms just makes me laugh everytime.
Carry on.

Bravie<--may have started her buzz a little early this afternoon. *sigh* But what else is there to do when you get sent home two hours early because they are cutting your hours? Good thing I won't be working tomorrow. I may need the hangover day. If you don't want to fire somebody and pay their unemplyment, then try to get them to quit.

Grumble

Remind me to get up on the right side of the bed tomorrow. Tell me why I'm cranky.

New York, New York

Anybody know anything about new York City? I may be planning a trip there in August for Michelle's birthday. For the most part, I can figure everything out that I want and need. But my two questions (for now) are where to stay and which airport to fly into.
We will be going to a Broadway play. I can rent a car if need be due to safety issues staying near Broadway. I'm looking for middle of the road as far as pricey hotels. I don't want to spend $500 a night for the room but I also am not looking to spend just $50 a night. Something mid range in a safe neighborhood.
Which airport is closest or does it make a difference? What are my choices for that area? I'm guessing La Guardia and JFK? Is that right?
Any help is appreciated.

Boring weekend randoms

Michelle's test came back. Everything is fine. So our next step is to start eliminating things one by one to see if maybe she is having headaches due to certain foods. That will be our main goal in life for a bit. Figuring out if we can find the source of her migraines.
We have a 2pm birthday party for our 11 year old niece today.
We are babysitting our 3 year old niece tonight.
Sunday, Michelle is catching a big ole tour bus with some of her friends and they are heading up to Cache Creek for a gambling day. The weather will dictate what I do tomorrow. If it rains *sigh* I will stay home and take apart my desk. I've been wanting to get rid of it since I closed my business. My neighbor, Belly, has been looking for a desk identical to mine. So I am giving it to her and in return she is taking us to The Elephant Bar for dinner one night.
BUT...if it's nice out, I am going to wash my car and then I am going to go for a long bike ride by myself, out on the marina. I could call a couple of friends to go with me but truthfully I'm looking forward to an entire day all by myself. I need that every now and then and tomorrow will be perfect.
My hand must be healing because it is itching like crazy. Not a surface itch that I can scratch. It itches underneath the skin. However that happens.
No updates on the work front. I still despise and resent my boss as does every other employee.
It's been a rough and long week for me. Thursday was a great day but I'm glad it's the weekend.
I Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Have a great weekend

I was hoping to get to get out there and play today since I wasn't around much yesterday. But *pout* they left a pile of work on my desk for today. And? I am leaving a little bit early today. So I probably won't get out there until later. I feel like I haven't had a good chance to spend any quality time this week on blogs or the boards and I wanted to do that today. I think that I will take some time this afternoon to catch up on everything.

Have you ever had a really good day even though there wasn't anything significant about that day? It's weird. Yesterday Michelle and I had this just really awesome day. And we didn't even do a whole lot. Certainly nothing super exciting. But it was a really nice day for us. I'm glad that we had the chance to take yesterday off and hang out with each other. It felt so nice. *happy sigh*

Anyhow, enough of that sappy stuff. I can't believe it's already Friday. This week was so full and busy for me that today has snuck up on me. I hope everybody is having a great Friday. *smooch* to my bloggy friends.

P.S. Michelle said thank you to everybody for all the support yesterday. *smooch*

Wish us luck, please.

I'm leaving in a few minutes for the day. I am taking Michelle to the doctor to get a CT scan done on her head. She has been having major headaches and neckaches and backaches. She went to the doctor and they didn't see anything on the surface so they ordered a CT scan to be done. She has been having a constant migraine for about 3 weeks continuously now. *sigh* Obviously she is very nervous about today. So wish us luck. she'll be fine. Right?

Details won't follow

But I just have to say that broken hands hurt. Muchly. Even if the broken hand is really just a slight fracture to the bone nearest your last two fingers and a serious bruise to the rest of your hand.
They are also rather cumbersome when it's your right hand and you are right handed. Think about all of the things that go on in a bathroom that can't exactly be perfected with your opposite hand. :) Especially when you are female.
Try taking a shower tomorrow with just one hand. You must get the shampoo out of the bottle with just one hand. It is most helpful when the shampoo bottle is nearly full. I found that if you place it between your knees, squeeze and hold your hand out in front of the bottle, you can get enough out to wash your hair.
Writing? Difficult. Typing? Also difficult. As a matter of fact, I started this blog entry at 8am this morning. See how long it took? (this may be a slight exaggeration)
Forget having a good hair day with just one hand. Scissors and pouring coffee? Difficult.
Either Nookie or Augie (I can't remember which) used to make fun of me because I would practice doing things with my left hand in case I ever lost my right arm. Yes, I realize that this is a strange thing to do but if you don't know by now that I'm strange then you haven't been paying attention. In any event, I now wish that I had practiced more things with my left hand. Damnit.
I think for the sake of mystery and such, I won't reveal how the hand got busted. But writing about it helped to cheer me up a bit.

Two things I'm sick of today

1. Lesbians
2. Fruit
And I'm not sure which one I am more sick of at this point.
I started the cabbage soup diet today. Today's menu consists of nothing but cabbage soup and fruit. Fruit, fruit and more fucking fruit. I am NOT a huge eater of fruit. So an entire day of it has been a nightmare. I had kiwi, strawberries, a nectarine, a grapefruit, an apple and an orange. So far. I have more fruit at home and more cabbage soup. Tomorrow is veggie day and I CAN.NOT.WAIT. I love my veggies. Can never have too many of them. Fruit? I'm sick of it.

My office is full of lesbians. Big (by big, I don't necessarily mean obese. Two of them are actually quite tiny) dykey butch lesbians. All loud, all obnoxious, all acting like they are all that. I've never seen so much flannel and so many mullets assembled in one office building. I shouldn't have worn a tight t-shirt and jeans today. They all keep looking at me and it's making me uncomfortable. Stop looking at me. Nice soft butch lesbians are okay, lipstick lesbians are okay. They can look all they want. But the butchy ones make me uncomfortable. I feel like they are behind closed doors saying "I could gobble that one right up". They have to go out of their way to pass by my desk. My desk is not in the open part of the office. So in order to pass by my desk, they have to go out of their way. And everytime, they walk by and smile and stare.
ACK!!! SEE???? One just did it again. Waaaaaah. Make them leave.
*grin*

ETA: I just realized the association between the two things I am sick of. Fruit and lesbians. *giggle* FTR, I am not sick of gay men (fruit) today.

Interesting quotes

Well, interesting to me. I saw these and really liked them. I felt like saving them somewhere so I would have a reminder when I needed one, so here is where they will be saved.

You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."-Dale Carnegie

"Love is blind, but friendship closes its eyes."-unknown

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."- Walter Winchell

"The only way to have a friend is to be one."-Ralph Waldo Emerson

"He who searches for friends without faults, will never have a friend."-Unknown

A best friend is a sister that destiny forgot to give you."- Unknown

"Friends are the bacon bits in the salad bowl of life."- Unknown--this one is kind of stupid but it cracked me up anyhow.

Yummy Goodness

This is the yummy goodness called a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. It comes from Carl's Jr. I had one last week but damn I want another one. Right Now. I think there are about 40000 calories in it though so I am resisting so far. Somebody tell me that it is okay to have another one since I am having another stressful week. But tell me that there are only 10 calories in it. Mkay? It's an angus beef patty with bbq sauce and bacon and cheese and onion rings inside a sesame seed bun. Tell me that it's a diet food.

Beautiful weather

YAY!!! It is so nice outside. It was cold and icky yesterday but today is wonderful. I'm just waiting for Michelle to finish getting ready and then we're off to hang out downtown for a bit. Then we're having a bbq at Belly's house. Depending on how much alcohol we have, we are going to attempt to watch Fight Club tonight. Believe it or not I have NOT seen this movie. I think it's the only movie with Brad Pitt that I haven't seen. I've always wanted to see it but Michelle was never thrilled. Her brother lent us the DVD so we were going to watch it tonight. We'll see. I've been in a party mood since yesterday so I may just drink too much to want to sit and watch a movie.
It's so nice to be in shorts and flip flops and short sleeves. That's when I'm at my happiest. It's the simple things in life.
Hope ya'll are having a good weekend.

Buzzed and bummed

*pout* I tried to get Michelle and Belly (my neighbor) to go to this Saloon tonight. My ex/soon to be hopefully no longer an ex boss is in a two man band and they are playing in public for the first time tonight. It's not my kind of music but I really wanted to go. *sigh* But neither of them wanted to go so it's a no go.
Instead I've been sitting here sucking down the cocktails. *grin* Belly is still coming to get me in about an hour to go run some errands with her. Nothing liked drinking and errand running. At least she's driving.
Note to those who were wondering: Vanilla vodka is not so tasty in a bloody mary. Bad idea.
I've been reading about Buddha. Interesting dude. I'm going to do some more reading on the subject.
Pickles wrapped in turkey meat and topped with capers and some scrammbled eggs is not too bad.
Jeopardy is on I'm going to see how well I do all buzzed and stuff.

Fridays don't suck

TGIF. Happy Friday to everybody. I need plans for the weekend. It's going to be in the 70's around here and I want something new and fun to do.
I think I had something that I wanted to do. But I don't remember what it was.
That's what happens when we get old. Hrmph.

Goodbyes suck

I am just soooo not good at goodbye. *sigh* Never have been, never will be. I'm not a big crybaby most of the time but Goodbye does it to me every fucking time. Especially when it's such good friends.
I just dropped off Breezy and Breezygirl at the airport and as usual I had a hard time keeping myself together. I guess the good things is that Breezygirl was there so I was forced to keep myself composed. Until I was alone in my car. *sob*
We didn't have a lot of time together but it's still wonderful to get to see my friend.
Now I'm off to meet Michelle at her work and we are going with our niece who is getting her first tattoo. It's Michelle's Goddaughter and we are very close with her and she really wanted us to be there with her when she got the tat. We were going to get one too but we aren't going to have enough time for us to get one. *pout*
Anyhow, I hope you're all having a good day. Mine has been good and bad. Good because Breezy and Breezygirl were here, bad because I had to say goodbye.
Glow can back me up on how bad I am at goodbyes. *sob*

My lunch

Well first off, my lunch was ruined by something that I saw. GAG.
That aside, guess what I am having. Guess. You can't guess so stop guessing.
I am eating a can of peas with crushed up Doritos in the can. Very tasty.

All of my neighbors watch AI

How do I know? Beacuse after the loud KABOOM SNAP, CRACKLE, POP,ZTTTTTTT, we all went outside. It appears that the power pole in front of my house exploded and half the town lost power. So there we were, all the neighbors, nestled outside, getting to know each other.
It seems that we all had the same concern. Would power be back on before American Idol came on. *grin*
Sadly, it did come back on but the guys sucked rotten apricots last night.

New rules at work: No sitting in the warehouse on breaks and lunch. No playing the radio in the warehouse. No more paper cups for our coffee, must be cheap 1/2 oz styrofoam cups. I've done shots larger than these things. *rolls eyes*

Looks around

Is everybody else as busy as I am these days? I like surfing the web at work but I much prefer to be busy these days. It's good to keep my mind occupied. :)

Saturday, March 03, 2007

Busy, busy, busy.

Talk about a busy couple of days. Sheesh. Breezy & Breezygirl have come and gone and will be back Wednesday night. We had a busy day of running around and then after dinner we just hung out at the house. Breezygirl was pretty much exactly as I thought she would be. Shy at first and then no problem saying whatever is on her mind. Jen, I did not give her a Bravie baptism. *snort* It was cute. When I first picked them up at the airport, I said hello to Breezygirl and she sort of hid behind Breezy. By the time I dropped them off at the airport today Breezygirl approached me with a hug before they left. I thought that was cute of her.
After dropping off the Breezyfamily I went home and got Michelle and our neighbor and we went to the flea market for the day. Beautiful day today. Around 70 degrees and sunny. I have to say, Breezy always brings the best weather with her. Then we went over to the neighbor's house and hung out. I came home and took a nap and Michelle went to play poker at the local card room. *yawn* I'm tired even though I took a nap.
Oh, btw, I talked to Breezy and she had landed in Hawaii. I could hear the smile on her face through the phone. She said it was 80 degrees and beautiful. She was going to find herself a job and move there. *giggle* I'm jealous and wish I could be in Hawaii. But I'm sooooo excited for her. She needs to have a relaxing vacation.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Dear Earthquake Gods!!!

I requested an earthquake for TODAY, not for last night. You did listen to me as far as the size of the earthquake. I requested a 4.5 or 5.0 for Friday, March 2nd. You delivered a 4.2 but a day early. Could you please re-deliver today? The intended recipient wasn't available when you delivered.
Thank you,
Bravie

Help!!!!

I have had too much coffee today. And I think there is a bug in my head.

Ohhh, and did I mention that Breezy and Breezygirl will be here on Friday? *grin* Be jealous people. :)
